Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Management


Dyna Segmen is a provider of protective and marine coatings, offering a complete line of high performance coatings technologies to combat corrosion. The standard coating system on the piping are not able to withstand the cyclical of hot and cold stress under the Insulation. Afraid not, Dyna Segmen can deliver unmatched service and coatings specification support to meet our customers’ coatings needs thru our Smart Coatings.


Other than regular insulation material (Rockwool, Glass Wool, Perlite, etc.) Dyna can also provide Aerogels. Aerogels are the world’s lightest solid materials, composed of up to 99.98% air by volume.Aerogel is a super insulating silica aerogels exhibit the lowest thermal conductivity of any solid known insulation materials and has the lowest-density structural materials ever developed for Hot and Cold Insulation Blankets purposes. Hydrophobic properties of the aerogel insulation blanket can prevent the water ingress in case of cladding damage and thus mitigate CUI.

Non-Destructive Testing

Nondestructive testing (NDT) is analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly-valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research. Common NDT methods include ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, and eddy-current testing.NDT is a commonly-used tool in engineering.

It is a method used to detect surface breaking defects in any nonporous material. Liquid penetrant is applied to the surface and is drawn into defects by capillary action. Once a preset dwell time has passed, excess penetrant is removed and developer applied to draw out penetrant from defects. Visual inspection is then performed. Visible and Fluorescent Liquid Penetrant Examinations are Non-Destructive methods of revealing discontinuities that are open to the surfaces of solid and essentially non-porous materials, ferrous or non-ferrous.

Advanced phonon testing incorporate global inspection techniques, particularly AET (Acoustic Emission Testing) into RBI (Risk Based Inspection) program to find hidden corrosion under insulation.

Drone Inspection


Dyna Segmen Sdn Bhd have expanded its technical capabilities with the introduction of Remote Arial Operated Vehicle (RAOV) into its list of offered services. Our technical service includes :
• Supply of manpower for remote inspection
• Supply of ROAV

Current challenges faced by our clients in inspecting out of reach places has pushed us to provide solutions which are cost and time efficient. Prior to drones or RAOV, convensional slope inspection was carried out through the provision of helicopters and thus provides a less cost effective solutions.
